About First Words including ScreenShots

 

First Words is an iPhone/iPod touch program designed to helps toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners build their vocabulary. The intuitive controls and dynamic activities will keep children entertained while they learn. The multiple activities use sound effects and animation to keep children returning to the game to learn more. By simply touching the screen, children can expand their language skills with eight educational activities:

  • ABCs
  • Animals
  • Beach
  • Numbers
  • Sports
  • Fruit
  • Colors
  • Shapes

When your child touches a picture, the animated screen will zoom in on the selected item and reveal the word. Your child will then hear the word spoken. For support please email support@clevercoding.com

Home Screen

 

The Home screen allows for navigation to the eight pages that make up the First Words program. When you push the icon the word discribing the page is spoken and then you are taken to that page. For example if you push the sheep icon a voice will say "animals" and then it will then take you to the Animals page.

 

 

Shapes Screen

 

This screen show eight basic shapes. When a shape is pushed the other shapes scatter flying in all directions and the shape pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the shape is spoken. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal and at the same time plays a sound effect. The basic shapes include a circle, triangle, heart, oval, square, star, diamond and rectangle.

 


 

 

Colors Screen

 

This screen show the primary and secondary colors as well as black and white. When a crayon is pushed the other crayons scatter flying in all directions and the crayon pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the color of the crayon is spoken. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal and at the same time plays a sound effect. The colors include black, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.


 

 

Animals Screen

 

This page helps children to learn some of the common farm animals. When an animal is pushed the other animals scatter flying in all directions and the animal pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the name of the animal is spoken after the name is spoken the program plays a sound effect representing the sound of the animal. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal.Animals include the cow, horse, pig, sheep, rooster, chick and goat.

 


 

 

Sports Screen

 

This page helps children to learn some of the common sports. When a piece of sports equipment is pushed the other piece of sports equipment scatter flying in all directions and the piece of sports equipment pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the name of the sport is spoken after the name is spoken a cool sound effect is play representing the sport. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal. The sports represented are football, tennis, volleyball, baseball, soccer, ping pong, hockey and basketball.

 


 

 

Beach Screen

 

This contains a typical beach scene. When an item is pushed the other objects scatter flying in all directions and the object pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the name of the object is spoken. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal and at the same time plays a sound effect. Objects include a beach chair, umbrella, shovel, surf board, sun, palm tree, sandels, bucket, starfish, beach ball and seashell.

 


 

 

Fruit Screen

 

This contains a collection of common fruit spread out on a table cloth. When a piece of fruit is pushed the other pieces of fruit scatter flying in all directions and the fruit pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the name of the fruit is spoken. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal and at the same time plays a sound effect. The fruit displayed are an apple, banana, watermelon, pear, lime, orange, peach, kiwi, lemon and pineapple.


 

 

Alphabet Screen

 

This page uses wooden blocks to represent the alphabet. When a letter is pushed a letter the other letter scatter flying in all directions and the letter pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the letter is spoken. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal and at the same time plays a sound effect.

 


 

 

Numbers Screen

 

This page uses wooden blocks to represent the numbers. When a number is pushed a number the other numbers scatter flying in random directions and the number pushed is enlarge to fill the screen and then the number is spoken. Once the screen is touched again everything flies back onto the screen returning the screen to normal and at the same time plays a cool sound effect.
